dedicated to Norma L. Russeth

Laurel and Hardy, driving a 1921 Model “T” Ford Roadster, are stopping for petrol at a Red Crown gasoline station in Riverside, California in 1929.

The builder is working in scales from the full-sized oak leaf to the one-third scale of the Model “T” with Laurel and Hardy. The 1″ x 10″ tires, for example, represent a real Model “T” tire which would be 3″ x 30″.

From the ants on the tree to the cotton clouds in the sky, all give the illusion of depth in a mere eight-inch confined space.

The sculpture includes a 4′ x 6′ frame and is illuminated by 9-12V high-intensity floodlights, which help to eliminate shadows.

The builder’s subjects are a life-long love.
